Description
Mary E. Terry Eldridge was the Fayetteville State Teachers College choir director from 1949-1973. During her tenure, the choir toured in locations such as Hartford, Connecticut and performed at other N.C. institutions such as North Carolina A&T. Mary E. Terry is the composer of the university alma mater, “Old White & Blue”. She also assisted Marian Anderson with preparing for her performance at FSTC. A graduate of Oberlin College, she received her MFA from Carnegie Mellon University. Mary E. Terry Eldridge also completed additional studies at Atlanta University, Boston Conservatory, The University of California at Berkeley, and University of Pittsburgh.
