Description
George Van Hoy Collins, as the first choir director from 1944-1949 he was charged with establishing the Fayetteville State Teachers College Choir by Dr. James W. Seabrook. During his tenure, the FSTC choir was the first to perform at Hampton University’s Ogden Hall. The choir also performed for radio stations such as WPTF Raleigh and WCBS Radio. Mr. Collins graduated from Hampton University with a bachelor’s degree in music. He also completed further study at St. Augustine University, Rabbe Vocal School, and Julliard Institute of Musical Art.
