Abstract

Driven by the attacks of September 11, national and international security concerns have moved to the forefront of political and policy agendas and have become a primary matter and focus in the United States and the international community. A major element of these concerns includes the role and functions of Intelligence. This article addresses concepts of Intelligence and focuses particularly on Intelligence Studies with special attention to an analysis of subject content for an Intelligence Studies program. Extremely useful for those involved with such academic efforts, this empirical study, consisting of qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis, details the importance of specific elements of Intelligence Studies subject content with the intention of providing prescriptive guidance for these types of endeavors.
