Abstract
The grapes and wine industry are mentioned in the Bible, The wine press technology it seem the first appeared in the Roman periods, there are many examples from this period in Rome and other sites. In addition, the wine industry continued in the region of the Roman era to the Islamic Periods through re-use of the contemporary Roman winepress that has spread in some locations in the region. For example, the great wine press at Yacamun Site that appeared in the Roman period and continued in use during the Byzantine and late Umayyad early Abbasid eras.
